Williams Energy Partners L.P. Elects Hanna to Board

TULSA, Okla. -- The general partner of Williams Energy Partners L.P. (NYSE:WEG) has elected W.W. "Bill" Hanna to its board of directors.

Hanna, 65, recently retired as vice chairman of Koch Industries where he spent more than 30 years in leadership roles. He becomes the third independent director for the partnership.

"Bill has been a leader in the energy industry for many years and has a clear understanding of what it takes to profitably grow in the energy sector," said Phil Wright, president. "We are pleased that Bill has agreed to join our board, and I know he will provide excellent guidance as we implement our growth strategy."

At Koch, Hanna created a natural gas and liquids group in 1968, led the energy products division starting in 1981, was named president and chief operating officer of Koch Industries in 1987 and vice chairman in 1999. Prior to Koch, Hanna spent nine years with Sunray DX in Tulsa. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University and has served in leadership posts for non-profit organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Goodwill Industries, Big Brothers and Sisters and Junior Achievement.

The election of Hanna brings the total number of board members for the partnership to seven. He joins William A. Bruckmann III and Don J. Gunther as independent directors.

The remaining directors are Keith E. Bailey, Williams' chief executive officer; Steven J. Malcolm, Williams' president and chief operating officer; Phillip D. Wright, president and chief executive officer for Williams' energy services division; and Don R. Wellendorf, vice-president of strategic development and planning for Williams' energy services division.
